Yes yes, we know it’s quite a lot to ask of you to go to the movies ten days in a row. But hey, it might be your only chance to see Kim Ki-Duk’s most recent flick “Moebius” (in Germany for whatever reason also known as “Moebius, die Lust, das Messer”) on the big screen, because almost no cinema wanted to show it. So it’s on us to bring it to you:

Moebius, die Lust, das Messer

Kim Ki-duks Filme waren und sind kontrovers. Sein aktueller – „Möbius, die Lust, das Messer“ – lief letztes Jahr in Venedig, während er in Südkorea laut einer Vorschrift nur in „speziellen“ Kinos gezeigt werden darf – die es in der Realität gar nicht gibt. Ohne jeden Zweifel ist der Film eine dunkle Herausforderung, die an antike Tragödien erinnert: Ein Vater zerstört seine Familie – geplagt von Schuldgefühlen wegen der Kastration seines Sohnes beendet er seine Affäre und bringt für ihn ein großes Opfer. Meisterlich inszeniert als reines Zeigen ohne Dialog, mit harten Soundschnitten montiert, entfalten die Bilder sich zur schmerzhaften, freudianischen Groteske rund um Lust, Schuld und Gewalt.
