Ausufernde Waldbrände, schmelzende Pole, Ressourcenkriege, Flucht und Vertreibung prägen die mediale Berichterstattung, vor allem aber die Lebenswirklichkeit von Millionen Menschen. Sich aktiv und kritisch mit Klimapolitik auseinanderzusetzen und diese zu gestalten ist grundlegende Notwendigkeit unserer Zeit. Wie lässt sich die Beschäftigung damit kreativ umsetzen?
Im Workshop CHANGE THE SHOW! sollen ökologische und klimapolitische Fragestellungen unter Anleitung der Filmemacherinnen Svenja Schulte und Sita Scherer in Videos überführt werden: Die Teilnehmenden nutzen filmische Mittel, um poetische, informative oder fragende Videos zu produzieren. Gefilmt wird mit dem eigenen Smartphone, geschnitten werden die Clips im Anschluss am Laptop. Der Workshop erstreckt sich über drei Tage: Am ersten Tag werden durch Input und Diskussionen Konzepte erarbeitet, die am Folgetag in Kleingruppen umgesetzt werden. Am letzten Tag stehen Schnitt und Präsentation im Vordergrund. Eine gemeinsam erarbeitete Guideline hilft den Teilnehmenden bei der Umsetzung weiterer Filmprojekte.
Die Zielgruppe umfasst 14 bis 20-jährige Jugendliche, die sich für klimaaktivistische Themen und technische Möglichkeiten audiovisueller Medien interessieren. Der Workshop ist kostenlos und auf zehn Personen begrenzt.
Er findet unter Berücksichtigung der aktuellen Hygienekonzepte statt.

We are looking forward on this years FOCUS on the filmmaker Sara Fattahi. We screen her films Coma (2015) and then Chaos (2018). Sara Fattahi will accompany us this evening and give insights in conversation with Dennis Vetter.
Sara Fattahi, born in Damascus/Syria in 1983, has been living and working in Vienna since 2015. She made her first short film, 27 METERS, in 2013, followed two years later by her feature-length debut COMA, which was awarded best debut at Visions du Réel Film Festival Nyon and won the FIPRESCI Award at the Viennale. CHAOS, the thematically related film that followed, also received numerous awards, including the Boccalino Award for best director at the Locarno Film Festival and the Diagonale Award for best Austrian feature film.
