So, those of you who want to come and see Julian Radlmaier’s SELBSTKRITIK EINES BÜRGERLICHEN HUNDES today, please make a reservation by writing a mail to info[at]luru-kino.de. Those of you who have a festival ticket should be at Luru-Kino 20min before the beginning of the film (i.e. 7:40pm), so you’ll be guaranteed to get a seat. (If you can’t make it early enough, please make a reservation as well to be safe.)

And, as you know, afterwards we will have the double screening of TARA and FLUIDØ, which will start a little later though—at 10:15pm. Try to be there early or make reservations, too, nonethless. Read more about the two films here.
Unfortunately, the MOTEL Regiekollektiv had to cancel their visit and won’t come to the screening of TARA tonight. Let’s hope for a good screening anyway. See you later on in the dark!
Only five more days to go! GEGENkino 2017′s drawing closer… and we’re very happy to be able to announce a further bunch of guests: Lion Bischof, Jonas Heldt & Felicitas Sonvilla of MOTEL Regiekollektiv will come to the screening of Sonvilla’s short film TARA on 12 April at Luru Kino in order to talk to us and you about the practice of collective filmmaking and other such things.

Erinnerung und Überwindung gehören zu den leitenden Motiven in TARA. Die in diesem Kurzfilm entworfene Gegenwart ist von Dunkelheit und Kälte gezeichnet. Bilder eines besseren Lebens findet Hauptfigur Mira nur noch in Erinnerungsfragmenten – jedenfalls bis sie von den Verheißungen des Ortes Tara hört. Diese weit im Osten liegende Gegend verspricht ein Leben, welches frei ist von den in den zentralen Regionen herrschenden Zwängen und sich lossagt von entfremdeten Verhältnissen, die das Dasein zu einem stummen Martyrium machen. TARA ist die neueste Arbeit des jungen Münchner Regiekollektivs MOTEL, welchem es hier gelingt, mit minimalen Mitteln ein erzählerisches und bildliches Szenario zu eröffnen, das in bestechender Weise an die großen Sci-Fi-Film Inspiratoren P. K. Dick, Stanislaw Lem oder die Strugatzki-Brüder erinnert.

2060. Wir befinden uns in einer Zukunft ohne Aids, in der ein neuartiges Rauschmittel grassiert. Die Droge wird aus sporadisch auftretenden HI-Virusmutationen gewonnen, ist durch Hautkontakt übertragbar und besitzt maximales Abhängigkeitspotential. Auch in dieser Zukunft sind Drogen noch illegal, Verfolgung durch die Geheimpolizei die Konsequenz. Zur gleichen Zeit an einem anderen Ort, ein ungewöhnliches Szenario: Männer im Jockstrap stehen verkabelt aneinandergereiht und müssen im Akkord Sperma produzieren, das zur Herstellung von Medikamenten für die Pharmaindustrie benötigt wird. Anhaltende Einstellungen wechseln mit dicht getakteten Aufnahmen, die bis hin zu temporären Strobo Effekten gesteigert werden und stellen damit Körper(sekrete) und deren potenzielle Wirkmacht in den Mittelpunkt. Bevor es FLUIDØ auf die Leinwand geschafft hat, machte sich das Zero Gen als Performance, Installation oder Fotoausstellung einen Namen. Ein dystopischer Science-Fiction-Porn, in dem die Grenzen zwischen den Geschlechtern sowie zwischen homo-, hetero-, bi-, trans- oder intersexuell kontinuierlich verschwimmen. „Fluidø is virus, sex, hack, drug & conspiracy.“ (Shu Lea Cheang)
