…and here’s another hot hot hot announcement:
the artist formerly known as Touchy Mob and nowadays as simply Touchy will come to our cool’n’cozy cinema at this year’s Reich&Schoen Festival to do a half-improvised, half-scripted live score for one not-to-be revealed-beforehand experimental film. So, you’re in (not only for one) but for two surprises!
What sort of sounds and feels will Touchy create this time? And: what movie will it be that he will score? Hint: It’s a film with a lot of water in it. (Just the right thing maybe for these sunny days.)
Touchy will be the closing act of our official cinema programme and make for the transition into Friday night’s party programme.

As promised, here comes a first announcement for our programme at Reich&Schoen Festival 2016.
We will screen films at the festival from Thu, July 9, 6pm until Fri, July 10, 9pm. [Check out the several other workshops that will be held at the festival, too, though!] After that it’s time to dance and party. But if you don’t feel like doing so, we will still be there for you and hold some screenings in secret.
In one section of our programme we want to show films that address gender, trans* and feminist issues. We are really happy therefore to have Katja Zeitler coming to the festival on Fri, July 10, 2pm to show her documentary film »Lichtvögel«, in which she portays her way from being Armin Zeitler to becoming Katja Zeitler and especially the trouble she had to face during the process—in society, in her family and with herself. Katja Zeitler will be available after the screening for a talk with the audience.

Hello, lovely GEGENkino followers, here’s some breaking news:
Summer, too, is a good time to spend indoors watching movies! Not only does it reduce the risk of getting a sunstroke or sunburn drastically, but also will it make you become a cooler, more clever, more critical person than you already are—at best.
Hence, we took the opportunity and will provide you with some premium cinematic (and cinematically extended) content at this year’s Reich&Schoen Festival!
The festival’s gonna take place from 9th–11th July 2016, somewhere close to the border to Czech Republic.

What could be better after a long, hard Day of Labour than watching a film, where all dialogue’s comprised of quotes from US American TV shows and soap operas and seeing Peaches, Rummelsnuff, Blixa Bargeld, Nina Hagen and Wolfgang Müller in the same film afterwards?! Exactly…!
Fort Buchanan

Das »Fort Buchanan« in Benjamin Crottys gleichnamigen Langfilmdebüt liegt in der französischen Provinz und ist eigentlich mehr eine queere Landkommune als eine Militärbasis. Wobei, immerhin die meisten der Bewohner haben Ehemänner beim Militär. Etwa Roger, dessen bessere Hälfte Frank in Afrika ist und deren gemeinsame Tochter Roxy ebenfalls von einer Zukunft in der Armee träumt. Ganz nebenbei erwacht auch noch ihre jugendliche Sexualität, was das polyamore Fort freudig zur Kenntnis nimmt. Vater Nr. 1 quälen indes Einsamkeit und Treue, weshalb die Gemeinschaft kurzerhand beschließt, nach Djibouti zu fliegen um Vater Nr. 2 zu besuchen. Doch Leidenschaft und Begehren wollen nach 18 Jahren Ehe nicht mehr so recht aufkommen, da helfen auch Hotpants und ein neuer Haarschnitt nicht viel. Was für ein virtuoser Film! So voller Sinnlichkeit: die Farben, die Körper, das Licht, die Grobkörnigkeit des 16mm-Materials. Dazu ein Mix aus Country-Songs, Klassik und Electro-Party-Sound. Ein Hybrid voller Künstlichkeit, irritierenden Schnitten und Dialogen, die allesamt aus US-amerikanischen TV-Serien stammen, was im Französischen vollends bizarr wirkt. Nieder mit den Erwartungshaltungen! Hoch mit dem guten Humor! Queer Cinema at its best!

Ezra, ein amerikanischer Schriftsteller, kommt nach Berlin. Wegen David Bowie. Er verbringt seine Tage mit Feiern, Drogen nehmen und pseudo-philosophischen Gesprächen. Er will mehr Punk sein, gleichzeitig wünscht er sich aber mehr zu schreiben. Den Großteil seiner Zeit teilt er mit seiner geheimnisvoll-geistreichen Freundin Catherine, die einen beunruhigenden Fetisch für Nazi-Utensilien hat. In einer Bar trifft er auf Sasha, einen russischen Immigranten, der als Escort arbeitet. Beide driften durch die queere Subkultur und den exzessiven Underground der Stadt, auf Arbeit oder auf der Suche nach Leben, Sex, Liebe, Rausch. Die Stadt Berlin wird mit ihren vielen Tummelplätzen für marginalisierte Kulturen zum Hauptcharakter des Films. Gefilmt an realen Locations spielen viele Persönlichkeiten sich selbst, featuring unter anderem Peaches, Rummelsnuff, Blixa Bargeld, Blood Orange, Nina Hagen und Wolfgang Müller.
