Wir sagen noch einmal ‚allerbesten Dank’ an euch alle. Wir haben uns außerordentlich darüber gefreut, dass soviele Menschen zu unserem Festival kamen und darüber zu sehen, dass es ein so großes Interesse an abseitigen, unkonventionellen und forderndem Kino gibt. Um das schon einmal zu verraten: Das war eine große Motivation für uns.
Vorerst einmal auf Wiedersehen. Ihr werdet von uns hören. Irgendwann wieder.

Die Rächerinnen in Rape&Revenge-Filmen wie Ms. 45 »werden nicht nur für die Morde zur Verantwortung gezogen die sie an Figuren begangen haben, die an der Vergewaltigung keinerlei Schuld tragen. Bestraft wird hier zugleich ein feminines Aufbegehren gegen Sexismus und sexualisierte Gewalt, ein Selbstermächtigung der Frau zur Wehrhaftigkeit und der Ausbruch aus der Geschlechternorm einer passiven Weiblichkeit durch die Gewaltausübung. Eine solche Reaktion, das implizieren diese Rape-Revenge-Plots, führt direkt dazu, dass Frauen Amok laufen und deshalb – notfalls durch eine Vergewaltigung – in ihre Schranken gewiesen werden müssen.« (Julia Reifenberger)

At 6:30pm the ballroom of Schaubühne Lindenfels opens up for our »all eyez on v« video exhibition, in which various works dealing with female narrationship and the possibilites of (post-)porn filmmaking.
Similar topics will be discussed after at the »PussyPop« panel which starts at 7:30pm. With: Laura Méritt (Sexaktivistin, Mitbegründerin PorYes – Feminist Porn Award), Sven Lewandowski (Soziologe; Autor von »Die Pornographie der Gesellschaft«) und Tatjana Turanskyj (Filmemacherin, u.a. »Eine flexible Frau« & »Top Girl«).
Afterwards, at 10pm, Tatjana Turanskyj will precent her most recent film »Top Girl, oder: la déformation professionnelle« and have a Q&A with the audience after the screening.
Free entrance to the exhibition and the panel. The exhibition will be open until Saturday, 25 April. Some of the exhibiting artists will be present and available for discussion.
Tonight at GEGENkino we will put our focus on young, fresh and interesting German language cinema. See how it’s done!
We’ve got a handful of guests coming to our two screenings tonight, by the way:

»A PROLETARIAN WINTER’S TALE« director Julian Radlmaier, and
film critic Dennis Vetter will be there to give introductions to the two films and hold a discussion with the audience.

GEGENkino continues tonite at Institut fuer Zukunft.
We will start at 10:30pm with some 16mm screenings of short films by Maria Lassnig, Valie Export and Mara Mattuschka, and a talk with filmmaker Julia Ostertag who will show her film »Sexjunkie«. So, be early! The music and performances will start afterwards. Check the timetable!
There’s also going to be some more films looping at various places all over the IfZ. Be surprised!
