OK, es war ein halbes Jahr Ruhe, jetzt gibt es aber keinen Grund mehr, es Euch länger vorzuenthalten: wir planen gerade eine zweite Ausgabe unseres GEGENkino-Festivals! Wir haben Förderanträge geschrieben und verschickt, verhandeln derzeit mit potentiellen Kooperationspartnern und basteln fleißig am Programm.
Wir können Euch bereits so viel verraten: GEGENkino 2015 findet Ende April 2015 statt. Die Veranstaltungsorte sind einmal mehr das UT Connewitz, das Luru-Kino in der Spinnerei und die Schaubühne Lindenfels. Darüber hinaus werden wir im kommenden Jahr in einer Nacht den GEGEN-Gedanken aus den Kinosälen hinaus in ein anderes Umfeld, eine ausgelagerte Location, transportieren: in Kooperation mit der Leipziger Clubszene werden wir versuchen Club- und Filmkultur zusammen zu denken. Wir sind selbst schon ein wenig aufgeregt und voller Vorfreude auf das Ergebnis!
Unser Film- und Rahmenprogramm ist in jeglicher Hinsicht mit Lust und Hingabe aufgeladen und wird vor frischen Bildästhetiken und unkonventionellen Gedanken strotzen. Wir wollen nächstes Jahr mit Euch wieder außergewöhnliche Filme schauen, uns gemeinsam verschiedensten Bilderwelten hingeben, kritisch und konstruktiv über Filme und die Welt, auf die sie sich beziehen, diskutieren und dabei nicht vergessen: mit Euch zu tanzen!

GEGENkino is history. We stuffed our red GEGENkino-tights (everyone of us was wearing as a secret uniform underneath all of the time during the festival) into the trash. Stinky as they were.
A BIG THANX again to the three cinemas hosting, to the artists and scholars visiting, to all of the guests visiting, to everyone else for their massive support!
We are looking forward to GEGENkino #2 in 2015.

GEGENkino
It’s the last day of GEGENkino. Thanks already to everyone that came to our festival or supported us in whatever way.
Here’s a short reminder what will happen on GEGENkino’s finale. (For the sake of continuity this reminder will also be in English, even though our non-German speaking friends might be a bit disadvantaged tonight.)
Marcus Stiglegger (professor at the university of Siegen, an expert in exploitative movies and author of books like “Sadiconazista” or “Nazi Chic & Nazi Trash”) will give a lecture on the topic “Fascism and sexuality in film and popular culture”.
GEGENkino is drawing near. We can’t even fall asleep anymore out of excitement (and last-minute organizational stuff). Yupp, he’s coming for real! Jozef van Wissem will do a live score for Luis Buñuel’s surrealist classic “L’Âge d’Or” tonight at Luru-Kino. Thanks to Bundeskunsthalle we can even screen “L’Âge d’Or” from 35mm film roll.
